As one of the world’s foremost biotechnology companies, Genzyme Corporation, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, constructed a new headquarters building to support the work of 900 employees. Our approach was to challenge but not revolutionize the way they work. Through our close work with end users, DEGW developed a program and workplace design concept to support innovation and collaboration within Genzyme.

DEGW developed a workplace strategy by synthesizing organizational needs with the design of the new building and translating work practices into neighborhood plans. Working closely with Behnisch, Behnisch & Partners, plan concepts were further translated into final plans. The result is a new standard in environmentally-responsible architecture.
