| 2001 - Present
The space standards within the UN headquarters building in
New York have remained unchanged since 1974. To upgrade and
modernise the environment for the 5,000 occupants of the Secretariat
Building, DEGW developed space planning and design guidelines.
By shifting the balance of space use from individual to shared
space the unique user requirements of the UN were supported
and the building's historical image maintained while simultaneously
responding to best practices in contemporary office design.
